ANOTHER group of leading Nutrien Ag Solutions grower customers has enjoyed a memorable experience as part of an annual study tour with crop protection supplier, ADAMA Australia.
The latest tour recently returned from a four-day journey to the Apple Isle, which provided an insight into the region’s agricultural activities and industry, but also featured some of the best of what Tasmania has to offer.
Key ADAMA Australia managers hosted several Nutrien staff and 10 leading grower customers, including their partners, on the tour.
The group included growers from Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
The local agriculture sector, including everything from horticulture through to wool, livestock and broadacre crops, was put under the spotlight at Bridgewater, near Hobart, and in particular raised strong discussion on irrigation, including allocations and return on investment.
The remaining tour included a feast of activities and attractions, including a private Bruny Island food and wine tour, a private tour of the renowned Callington Mill distillery, cruises of the Tamar River and Cataract Gorge, as well as sightseeing of Launceston.
The Bruny Island tour took in a visit to Bruny Island Cheese Company, as well as The Neck Lookout, Adventure Bay, the Bruny Hotel and Cape Bruny Lighthouse, and included an afternoon of tasting the region’s premium wines and oysters.
ADAMA Australia Queensland Commercial Manager Rob Lomman said the company’s annual tours with Nutrien Rewards provided an excellent opportunity for the company to further engage with the Nutrien team and particularly grower users of ADAMA products.
“We always appreciate the opportunity to meet with grower users and update ADAMA Australia’s developments and activities,’’ Rob said.
“The feedback from those that have participated in recent tours has been really encouraging.
“Previous tours also have included trips to Israel, and we know our customers look forward to further tours ahead.’’
ADAMA and Nutrien Rewards are in the process of planning the 2024 Study Tour, which will be to the USA.
